Rare Blend quartet

Rare Blend Quartet

The A Cappella harmony of Rare Blend fits any occasion.

Whether singing for thousands at a festival, hundreds at a convention, dozens in church or just a handful at an intimate private party, Rare Blend is striking a heart-chord with Central Floridians.

Rare Blend has twice represented Florida in the Southeastern regional of the prestigious A Cappella Sweepstakes held at the famous Birchmere Theater in Alexandria, Va. They have also appeared in the Barbershop Harmony Society’s Mixed Harmony Showcase.

No strangers to vocal harmony, the members of Rare Blend have a variety of singing experience. Greg and Shannon have sung in several different barbershop quartets and Rebecca and Betsy were charter members of Sisters of Sound , a Harmony, Inc. chapter in Clermont, Fl. Greg is the Musical Director of the Harmony Sound Waves in New Smyrna Beach and Shannon directs Sisters of Sound. Shannon is the Immediate Past International President of the Barbershop Harmony Society.

When not harmonizing together, the members of Rare Blend pay the bills as a information technology manager, a classroom teacher, a music teacher and a healthcare consultant.

Greg is the President of Rare Blend and webmaster (hey, someone had to do it).

Betsy is Vice President and handles public relations (because of her bubbly personality).

Rebecca is the corporate Secretary, which requires her undivided attention, well ... once a year at least.

Shannon manages the group by virtue of being the low (and only) bidder.

So, what makes the blend so rare

Well, after being together for more years than most people keep a job these days, they still love singing together. The chemistry was there from day one and that, plus a good measure of rehearsing, continues to keep the music vibrant.
